Rather than let valuable or harmful waste and scarce raw materials go to landfill, REPIC’s role
is to recover, collect and transport used electrical goods and batteries to specialist treatment plants,
where the various component materials can be salvaged and handled safely and converted into new
usable raw materials.
REPIC provides this service to companies who manufacture electricals (for example, manufacturers
and sellers of toasters,TVs, washing machines, computers. In fact, any electrical or electronic product)
by financing the collection, transport, treatment and environmentally sound disposal of waste electrical
and electronic equipment (WEEE).
It is the job of REPIC to link together producers, distributors, local authorities and treatment plants
so that as much electrical waste can be recovered and recycled as possible.
