Our homes are full of electrical appliances – some we can’t live without, others we forget we even had!
Either way, sooner or later, these items reach the end of their lifespan and need replacing.
Around 175 million brand new electrical items are bought each year in the UK.
From which one million tonnes of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) is generated.
The UK has a target to recycle 65 per cent by weight of this EEE by 2018 – in 2013 the UK figure
shows nearer 35 per cent.
